Diron Cassidy

PT, MPT (Owner)

Diron Cassidy, PT, MPTDiron Cassidy is a vestibular specialist with nearly 20 years of experience treating people with vestibular, neurological and balance-related diagnoses. He is also a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy.

He has successfully completed a series of APTA Vestibular Rehabilitation Competency Courses at Emory University and Duke University and has extensive education in his areas of expertise. Diron currently spends his clinical time treating patients recovering from concussions and complex vestibular issues.

As the clinical director, he oversees the physical therapy program and consults on cases as needed. He works closely with the Vortex team to develop their vestibular and geriatrics expertise and prioritizes continuing education. This includes staying on top of the latest industry research and attending advanced courses and professional conferences.

In his free time, Diron enjoys fishing with his kids and watching the San Francisco Giants and San Jose Sharks.

Leann Nakamura

PT, DPT

Leann joins the Vortex team after working in a local skilled nursing facility, rehabilitating people who had recently been hospitalized.

She became interested in balance and vestibular rehabilitation during a clinical rotation when she had the opportunity to work 1:1 with people experiencing dizziness, vertigo and balance issues.

Her goal as a physical therapist is to connect with her patients to provide an optimal healing environment.

In her free time, Leann likes to walk her dogs, cook healthy meals, garden, and clean around the house.

Cara Cassidy

Office Manager

Cara Cassidy is responsible for managing the clinic, which includes scheduling appointments, answering phones, coordinating with other medical offices, and insurance billing.

As the primary contact for the clinic, she is the point person for questions about our therapy program. If she is unable to answer your questions, she will help you find the answer.

Cara leverages her background in communications and customer service to ensure a positive experience for everyone who walks into our clinic.

When she isn’t working, she enjoys reading, traveling, fostering kittens, and spending time with family.

Brittany Curry

PT, DPT

Brittany Curry, PT, DPTBrittany Curry has been with Vortex since 2015. She sees people with a wide-variety of vestibular, neurological and balance issues. In addition to her in-clinic experience, she has completed extensive training and coursework, including successfully passing the APTA Competency Course on Vestibular Rehabilitation at Emory University.

She enjoys educating patients on the latest research and working with people to resolve their symptoms and get back to living an active lifestyle. She continues to take advanced courses in her specialty.

A native of San Jose, Brittany enjoys hiking our national parks, traveling with her husband, snowboarding, and taking spin classes.

Amanda Kelch

PT, DPT

Amanda Kelch, PT, DPTAmanda Kelch is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy (NCS), who moved to the Bay Area from Michigan in 2018.

After receiving her DPT, she completed a neurological residency at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, the fifth largest rehabilitation hospital in the US. There, she worked with people recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, concussion, vestibular dysfunction, and other neurological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Amanda’s residency experience has helped shape how she approaches patient care at Vortex. She brings additional neurological experience to the Vortex team which has benefited her patients  with vestibular and neurological issues.

Amanda enjoys hiking and biking with her husband, taking their dog for long walks, and reading.
